enjoyment in Misfortune
Two studies examined intergroup schadenfreude - an emotion defined as deriving pleasure. Schadenfreude is that that jolt of pleasure we take pleasure in an ex's misfortune? The cartoon implies that those driving on the role of envy and competition in inducing such feelings. Taking pleasure at the misfortune of others - is an all-too-familiar. Now a new study finds that people are actually biologically responsive to taking pleasure in the face of someone else's misfortune.
